Boredom Busters for Long Car Rides

We have a pretty strong road trip game over here and I would guess that we have logged well over 20,000 travel miles in the car with our kiddos over the last 10 years. We have driven from our home in Pennsylvania to Florida (6 times), Texas, Arkansas, North Carolina (5 times), Niagara Falls, Wyoming and probably some trips I’m not remembering at the moment. If there is one major tip I can give you when it comes to traveling with kids: a little preparation goes a longggggggggggggggg way.

We plan our big road trips carefully. We always make sure that we allot time for bathroom and stretch breaks as we plot our journey on the map and look for potential hotels. The week or two before our trips, I spend a lot of time gathering printable road trip activities, snacks, etc for the kids to enjoy on our journey. When we drove to Yellowstone, I made up some Adventure Bucks for them to earn and then they were able to trade them in for prizes that I had in my dollar store treasure box. They had SO much fun with that!!
