How to Cook Frozen Pigs in a Blanket in Air Fryer
Air fryers do a pretty incredible job cooking many things, including some of your favorite frozen appetizers. See how easy it is to cook frozen pigs in a blanket in your air fryer.
Last week we were about to use our air fryer for at least the third time that weekend. Usually we are cooking up a steak or some pork chops or yes, my new favorite air fryer salmon recipe (OhEmGEE, it’s mouthwatering!!). However the other night the Eagles game was on and we decided to have some easy frozen apps for dinner. Bob cooked up some wings in the Instant Pot and I was charged with getting some frozen appetizers like mozzarella sticks and pigs in a blanket cooked in the air fryer.
Now at first I thought, why the heck would I write a post telling people how to cook a frozen, not-from-scratch food in an air fryer? Well, easy: isn’t that why you searched for “how to cook frozen pigs in a blanket in an air fryer?” Yep. I’m willing to bet that many of you arrived here that way. And that’s great – you’re not alone! And guess what I did before writing this post? YES, I Google’d how to cook frozen pigs in a blanket in the air fryer!! LOL!
That’s because many frozen foods cook up DELICIOUSLY in the air fryer, however few of those products offer air fryer cooking temps and times on the packaging.
In fact, I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for online, so I looked at the oven directions on the box and estimated. And I totally OVER estimated on time, but thankfully I heard the franks sizzling and decided to check on their progress.

Frozen Pigs in a Blanket (Crescent Roll Type Pastry Crust)
I picked up these “Franks in a Blanket” at ALDI last week. They are basically cocktail franks wrapped in frozen crescent roll-like pastry dough. So you are essentially baking the pastry dough, as well as heating up the meat when you cook it. The trick is to fully cook the puff pastry without scorching it.
Air Fryer Cooktime
Similar to other frozen apps, this snack requires zero prep. Simply arrange the frozen pastries in your air fryer. I recommend placing them in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
I cooked these at 380 degrees for 6 minutes.
(Remember how I said the first time I made these I overestimated the cooktime? Yeah, I originally set the timer for 20 minutes!! LOL WHOOPS!! I peeked in the fryer after just 8 minutes and they were almost overcooked. The next time I made them I went with a 6 minute cooktime and they turned out great.
If your pastry dough does not appear quite cooked after 6 minutes, simply turn the air fryer back on at one minute intervals until they are cooked to your liking.
We usually serve these with ketchup and mustard as dipping options. Yum!
