DIY Dollar Store Hair Brushing Station
You get ready for a new school year with new school supplies and clothing. Don’t forget about the hair brushing supplies! Buy new supplies and keep it all together in a simple caddy. See how easy this DIY hair brushing station is to make!
It’s almost time to head back to school and I am spending my last couple weeks of summer break brainstorming various things that I can prep or make to result in school mornings that are low on stress. When we are scrambling around in the morning, I love being able to whip up a quick easy breakfast. In the afternoons when we try to finish homework before sports practice, I rely on my DIY dollar store homework caddy and some super easy Instant Pot Meals to save time and effort.
Don’t Waste Time Searching for the Brush and Ponytail Holders
One thing that consistently wastes our time on school mornings is those precious minutes lost while we search for a hair brush and ponytail holders. Oh, it’s not that we don’t have enough of either item – quite the contrary. In our house at any given time, we probably have about 20 brushes and 500 elastic hairbands. But these supplies have a knack for going MIA just when I’m trying to braid Lily’s hair as the bus hurtles closer to our house.
Dollar Store Hair Supplies
This year I’m going to be a little smarter when it comes to hair brushing and styling. I decided to buy some new supplies including yes, more elastic hairbands, some brushes, and also a plastic water spray bottle which I always use for Landon’s hair.
To make my hair brushing station, I grabbed the following items from the dollar store:
Elastic Hairbands (several packs)
New hairbrushes
Headbands
Depending on your kids’ hair needs, you might also want to grab combs, clips, bobby pins, barrettes, mousse or gel, etc.
You’ll also want to get a caddy to hold the supplies and possibly a Carabiner Hook or two if the caddy has a hole or handle where you can attach the hooks.
I love the way our caddy turned out! I plan to keep this in the kitchen which is where I do the kids’ hair most days. The beauty though, is that this caddy can be carried anywhere in the house. Very convenient!
