Easy 6 Layer Taco Dip Recipe
Seven ingredients make up this delicious 6-layer taco dip recipe. Always a crowd pleaser, this is the perfect party food and can be made in small or large batches!
Sometimes it’s the simplest recipes that become the family favorites. Years ago, my aunt starting making an incredibly tasty taco dip and she would bring it to various family birthday parties and other picnics and get-togethers. She was kind enough to share the recipe with me and it now shows up at most of our parties and picnics as Bob or I make it often.
The above picture is a sort of cross section view of the taco dip, showing off each of the layers. When all of these layers combine and sit atop a tortilla chip, the taste is a-mazing!
Here’s a close up pic of the taco dip, just waiting for a chip –
Ingredients for Taco Dip
(2) 8 oz packs of cream cheese
1 packet taco seasoning
1 onion (diced)
1 green pepper (diced)
2 medium tomatoes (diced)
1-2 cups Mexican or Taco shredded cheese blend
2 cups shredded lettuce
How to make Taco Dip
1. Combine taco seasoning with cream cheese in a bowl. Beat with a hand mixer until blended.
2. Spread cream cheese in a serving dish. Want the easiest clean up ever? Use a disposable chafing dish like the one pictured in our post!
3. Layer ingredients in this order: tomato, onion, green pepper, cheese, lettuce. (Order is important. You are basically trying to create a barrier between the lettuce and the wet ingredients (cream cheese, tomato).
That’s it!
Serve this taco dip with your favorite tortilla chips.
Optional ingredients: cilantro, jalapeno peppers
Like I said, one of the best parts about this easy taco dip (besides the delicious taste) is that it can be made in big batches to feed a crowd! It’s also easy to make this one a day ahead of your party. I recommend adding the lettuce just before the party starts to keep it from wilting!
