BBQ Sauce Ingredients

There is nothing more popular around here for dinner than food fresh off the grill! We tend to grill year round, but definitely ramp up our efforts as Spring warmth arrives. We season our meat and veggies all different ways, but an old stand-by is homemade barbecue sauce. It’s so simple to make and uses ingredients that I pretty much always have on hand. The other night we had Smithfield All Natural Fresh Boneless Pork Chops with homemade barbecue sauce and they were absolutely scrumptious. (There’s currently a $.75 Ibotta offer for Smithfield All Natural Fresh Pork Products you can earn too!)

We picked up a pack of Smithfield All Natural Fresh Boneless Pork Chops at Walmart earlier this week.  It was easy to find, right in the pork section of the meat case.

On busy weeknights, I aim for easy meals that taste amazing and can be prepped, cooked and on the table in around 30 minutes.  Less time prepping and cooking gives me more time to chat with Lily after her day at school, before we head off to that night’s extracurricular activity.  Smithfield All Natural Fresh Pork products work great for a variety of tasty meals because they are so easy to prep and we can roast, saute, grill them, etc.  I continually challenge myself to be a conscious consumer and know where my food is coming from.  Smithfield® makes this easy because their All Natural Fresh Pork Chops are proudly raised in the USA by Smithfield farm families.  Love that!

For this tasty barbecue sauce, you will need:

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1-2 lbs meat of your choosing (We used Smithfield All Natural Fresh Boneless Pork Chops.)

To make:

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
  • Place meat onto grill.
  • Brush sauce on meat.
  • Cook as directed, flipping halfway through cook time.
  • Apply sauce to cooked side after flipping.
  • Cook until meat is thoroughly heated per cooking instructions on package.
