When I was pregnant with Lily Bean, one piece of nursery decor that I really wanted was a set of letters spelling out her name. I remember looking at various stores. But the letters that came already painted were so pricey (some were $20+/letter!) or I simply couldn’t find any that were “just right.” I thought about going the DIY route, and checked out the local craft stores for blank letters to paint them myself. Needless to say my confidence in my own painting skills is nearly non-existent- no talent there. I begrudgingly gave up my search, but still wished that I found letters that I liked.
When Newborn Swag contacted me about a possible review and giveaway, I was immediately interested in their nursery letters. Each one appeared to have a unique design, and I was told that I could customize the letters to my liking. I didn’t realize how custom-made they would be. Oh.my.word- would you take a look?!
Beyond perfection!!! And I have to tell you- these pictures do NOT do these letters justice. Selling for just $10-$12/wooden letter, Newborn Swag allows you to be part of every step in the creation process (check out that that process here!). Customers can send Newborn Swag pictures of room decor or simply describe their ideal theme. I fell in love with the paisley design and chose the exact colors that would match Lily Bean’s room.
I was able to approve proofs of the drawing and the painted letters themselves, sent to me through email. When they arrived, I ran out to the store and matched up some pretty pink ribbon to hang them on- and I’m not making this up: Biker Bob made the bows. What can I say? He can do it all. :)
Each letter is unique and simply beautiful. The neat thing is that these letters don’t have to be nursery/baby name letters. You can spell out any word you’d like, for whatever room in the house you desire. You could have “Bath” in the bathroom, “Family” in the living room, and so on.
Whatever design you choose, whatever word you spell, I can tell you this- you will be thrilled. I like the quality of the wooden letter that the store uses- they are solid, thick, and perfectly smooth. They come in a variety of sizes. What an amazing new baby or baby shower gift!
