Summertime usually means a vacation for many, but how about the years when you take a “staycation” instead? Or maybe you are just looking for fun and easy at-home activities to entertain the kids during those lazy, hazy days of summer. In our ultimate summer staycation bucket list, we have compiled a list of 50 easy and fun activities that you can work on at home. Check it out!
Simple Summer Bucket List Activities
I don’t know how your summers typically play out, but over here it’s a mix. Most years see the kids spending anywhere from 2-4 weeks at different camps throughout the summer. From pony camp to theatre camp to sports camp and then finally the robotics camp that Landon enjoyed last year, they really look forward to these group camps!
On the other hand, we also try to leave ample time in our summer schedule to just… be. We hang at home, swim, spend time outside, etc. There is something very relaxing and wonderful about not setting an alarm for the next day. Not worrying about packing lunches, rounding up outfits or equipment, etc.
This new printable is a good one to have on hand for those days that you’re at home during the summer months. Years ago, I published this simple list of things to do when you’re bored. That’s a good one too, though today’s list provides a lot more specific ideas.
The kids helped me to compile a list of 50 activities that are simple, fun, and can be enjoyed at home, most of them are focused on the outdoors. However there are some indoor ideas too – for the days that are rainy or just too hot to be outside for very long. The ideas range from cooking to arts and crafts to using that good ‘ol imagination for some fun!
