Teacher’s Favorite Things Printable Survey for Teacher Gifts

A couple of weeks ago, Landon’s preschool sent home a survey similar to this one. It wasn’t blank like the one in this post though. It was all filled out by his teacher and assistant teacher with their favorite scents, restaurants, etc. I kept thinking, “THIS is SUCH a great idea!”

It’s a great idea because I love sending teacher gifts for holidays and Teacher’s Appreciation Day and even the last day of school. And while I can tell you from personal experience, teachers love the thought behind every gift, big or small, receiving a gift that they will actually use is like hitting a home run!

Who should be printing this survey?  Really anyone who is planning to give a teacher gift.  Realistically though, this survey would be perfect for the school PTO or yearly classroom helper parents to hand out to their teachers at the beginning of the school year.  Then they could make copies of each teacher’s survey to send home with students.

If I’m at the store shopping for a teacher gift, let’s face it: I’m just guessing most of the time.  I’m guessing what color might be the teacher’s favorite or what restaurant they might enjoy for dinner.  It would make it much easier if I knew that the teacher preferred Dunkin’ over Starbucks or that she loves vanilla scented lotion when I might have bought pearberry.

I could also see this survey coming in very handy for schools that celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week.  Schools in our area will typically gift little presents to the teachers each day over the course of the week.  Sometimes the gifts are generic and every teacher gets the same thing, other times they are a little more personalized.

The last couple of years at preschool, parents have contributed money towards the teacher holiday gifts.  One parent would collect all of the money and then buy some gift cards for the teachers.  This survey would ensure that the gift cards picked out are to places that the teachers really like!
