As the warmer months approach, it’s time to get creative with your outdoor gatherings. Whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue, a picnic at the park, or just a fun family evening on the patio, a themed charcuterie board can add a delightful touch to your spread. Today, I’m excited to share a super fun and visually stunning idea with you: the Sunflower Charcuterie Board! It’s easy to assemble, looks absolutely gorgeous, and tastes delicious. Let’s dive into how to make this sunny centerpiece.
If you have spent any amount of time on my blog, you know that I love a good themed charcuterie board! Here are some of my favorite themed boards that I have shared:

Ingredients
- Grapes (red)
- Cheddar Cheese Slices
- Crackers
- Fresh Rosemary Sprigs
Instructions
1. Slice the Cheese into Triangles
Start by slicing your cheddar cheese into small triangles. These will be the petals of your sunflower, so aim for uniform sizes to create a neat and balanced look.
2. Lay Out the Crackers to Create the Ground
Across the bottom of your tray or plate, arrange the crackers to represent the ground. You can use different shapes and sizes of crackers or use all of one cracker variety. This “ground” provides a nice base and contrast to your sunflower.
3. Place the Cheese Slices in a Circle
Now, take your cheddar cheese triangles and start placing them on the top half of your platter. Arrange them in a circular pattern, fanning outwards to create the petals of the sunflower. Overlap them slightly to give a fuller, more realistic look.
4. Place the Grapes in the Center of the Cheese Circle
Place the grapes right in the center of the cheese slice circle. These will form the heart of your sunflower, mimicking the look of the sunflower seeds.
5. Make a Stem with the Rosemary
Finally, take a few sprigs of fresh rosemary and lay them below the sunflower to create a stem. The green of the rosemary adds a pretty touch and enhances the overall aesthetic of your charcuterie board.
Tips for Success
- Variety of Cheeses: While cheddar is a classic choice, you can mix things up with different types of cheese. Try a mix of yellow and white cheeses for a more dynamic look.
- Fruit Options: Along with grapes, you can add blackberries or olives in the center for a different texture and taste.
- Cracker Choices: Use a mix of flavored and plain crackers to cater to different taste buds. Seeded crackers can add an earthy flavor that complements the rosemary.
- Herb Variations: If rosemary isn’t your favorite, try using thyme or chives for the stem.
Enjoy and Share!
