Show Teacher’s Appreciation with a DIY
Teacher Appreciation Week is always the first full week in May here in the US. (Of course, you don’t need a specific day or week to show a teacher some gratitude!) We love putting together simple DIYs (the punnier the better) to give to the kids’ teachers.
We have one SUPER SWEET Teacher Appreciation Gift idea to add to our extensive collection of teacher gifts today.
S’more Teacher Appreciation
I absolutely LOVE how this gift turned out. A few birthday parties ago, I picked up a big pack of little baker’s boxes. They have come in handy for so many different gifts and favors since then! As I was going through my closet and noticing how many boxes I still had left, I had the idea to use them for some sort of themed kit to gift teachers.
I settled pretty quickly on S’MORES KITS for the theme. Take a look at how easy these kits are to assemble. They are perfect for a sweet treat to show your appreciation to someone else.
Note: You can always add a gift card to the s’mores treat if you’re looking to up the value of the gift.
S’mores Teacher Gift Supplies
Round up the following supplies to make these s’mores kits:
- Small bakery boxes
- Marshmallows (I used square marshmallows, but regular round sized will work as well.)
- Graham Crackers
- Hershey Chocolate Bars
- Twine or ribbon
- Scissors
- Single hole puncher
- Our printable tags (I recommend printing these out on white cardstock. Get the tags below.)

How to Assemble S’mores Kits
The instructions for assembling these treat boxes are fairly simple.
In fact, the boxes were much easier to fill than I anticipated. Fitting the different food items inside is a little bit like a puzzle (or a game of Tetris!). Each favor kit holds enough food to make 3 s’mores treats, plus a couple of extra marshmallows and 1 extra strip of chocolate.
Here is how I arranged the ingredients:
- 6 graham cracker squares in the top right corner
- 4 chocolate bar sections under the graham crackers
- 4 marshmallow squares across the bottom of the box
- 1 marshmallow square (on its side) next to the chocolate and graham crackers
Don’t they look fabulous?
I loved the final look of the filled boxes. This cute little s’mores box is just about ready for gifting.
Finish them up
For the final step, I tied some red and white twine around the box.
I took the gift tags (printed on heavy card stock to make them fairly sturdy) and had my kids sign the back. Next, I punched a single hole in the top left corner of the tag and used the twine to tie the tag to the box.
The boxes are ready to give to your child’s teacher! Recipients can make their s’mores a variety of ways. Campfire, microwave, fire pit, an oven, or even an air fryer are great ways to cook up some s’mores.
I hope you have fun putting these gift boxes together and handing them out to the special teachers in your kids’ lives! If you end up giving them a try, please let me know how they turned out!
