I love that when I make these popsicles at home, I know exactly what ingredients are going into them. We used white grape juice as the liquid base. You could use any other juice you or the kids prefer. Coconut water or milk would also work well.

You can use any popsicle molds you’d like. We picked up this set at the dollar store.  One tip for easy popsicle removal – there is nothing more disappointing than bringing a set of popsicles out of the freezer, only to have the stick pull out of the frozen treat as you try to remove it from the mold. We always run warm water over popsicle molds (for about 15-30 seconds) to help unstick it from the mold sides.

  • popsicle molds

  • 8-10 strawberries rinsed, chopped
  • 1/2 pint blueberries rinsed
  • white grape juice (enough to fill each mold - amount will vary based on size of molds)

  • Gather your ingredients! As I said above, we used white grape juice. You could substitute other juices or coconut water or milk per your taste preference. We picked a lighter colored juice to represent the "white" section of the red, white and blue patriotic scheme.

  • Fill each mold to the fill line with juice. The blueberries in our molds floated to the top.

  • Freeze these popsicles until they are frozen solid (overnight, if possible). Run the popsicle molds under warm water for 15-30 seconds and then gently remove the popsicle from the mold.
  • Enjoy immediately! If serving at a party, you can place the popsicles on a plate of ice to keep them cold a bit longer.

One more tip – if you want to give the popsicle sticks a fancier look – we used candy sticks and replaced the popsicle sticks with the candy sticks.  Then we slid a decorative paper straw over each candy stick.
