Skittles St. Patrick’s Day Treats
What’s brighter and cheerier than a rainbow? Not much! This edible craft is a fun way to hand out rainbows to friends. It is a fun and easy St. Patrick’s Day snack idea and the ingredients are readily available at many stores year round. There are various ways to make these treats. Skittles candies seem to be the most popular food that I have seen for the actual rainbow part of the snack. I have also seen versions that use Froot Loops Cereal to make the rainbow. Any edible candy or cereal that comes in rainbow colors will work great.
I have also seen a variety of items used for the “gold” at the end of the rainbow. Rolos chocolate candy is a popular choice, as are Hershey’s Nuggets. I used chocolate gold coins and I really like the way they turned out. No matter what items you use, the end result is really fun and perfect for St. Patrick’s Day.
Rainbow Candy Treat Supplies
Here are the supplies that I used to make these treats:
Skittles Candy (8-10 of each color per bag)
Mini Marshmallows (9 per bag)
Gold Chocolate Coins (2 half dollars per bag)
Clear Treat Bags (I used 2″ x 10″ bags.)
Stapler and/or Tape

How to Assemble:
1. In each clear treat bag, place the gold coins at the very bottom.
2. Layer in the following order: mini marshmallows, red skittles, orange skittles, yellow skittles, green skittles, purple skittles.
3. Fold the top of the treat bag down and close with a piece of tape or a staple.
4. Print out our printable bag toppers (I recommend using white card stock to make them a little sturdier). Fold each topper in half. Place a topper on each treat bag and tape or staple it in place.
