Supply List
To make these paper plate Christmas trees, you will need:
- Paper plate
- Green acrylic paint
- Paint brush
- Colorful pom pom balls
- Yellow and brown construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick or liquid school glue
How to Make
1. Creating Your Tree Base: Begin by cutting the paper plate into three parts. Make one each piece a different size: a larger piece, medium piece and small piece. Next, channel your inner Van Gogh and paint these pieces green. Once painted, let them dry. Optional: add some silver or gold glitter to your tree before the paint dries to give your tree an extra sparkle!
2. Crafting the Topper and Base: While the green paint is drying, let’s work on the other tree elements. From the yellow paper, cut out a star. This will be our tree topper, shining bright! Then, cut a rectangle from the brown paper to serve as the tree’s trunk.
3. Assembling Your Tree: Once the paint is dry, it’s time to assemble your tree. Arrange the painted plate pieces in a tiered Christmas tree shape and use your glue to keep them in place.
4. Decoration Time: Now for the sparkle and color – decorate your tree with pom pom balls. These are your ornaments, so feel free to be as creative as you want. Red, blue, gold, or silver – every color adds its unique charm!
5. Star of the Show: Decorate the top of the tree. Every Christmas tree needs a star, and it’s time to place yours right at the top. A little glue, a gentle press, and voilà – your tree is almost ready!
6. Final Touch – The Trunk: Attach the brown paper rectangle at the bottom of your tree to complete the look. All done!
That’s it!
