Materials You’ll Need:

  • Green and Brown Construction Paper: The base of our tree. Green for the leaves and brown for the trunk – just like a real tree!
  • Pom Pom Balls: These little fluffy balls are going to be our colorful ornaments.
  • Scissors
  • Double-Sided Tape: Our secret weapon for easy sticking without the mess.
  • Cardboard: To give our tree a sturdy backbone.
  • Glue: If you would rather use glue to attach the pom pom balls to the tree instead of tape

Let’s Craft Our Tree:

Step 1: Creating the Foliage First off, take your green paper and cut a perfect square. This is going to be the foundation of our tree. Once you have your square, cut it into strips. These strips will become the fluttery leaves of our tree. Be careful not to cut the strips all the way through.

Step 2: Bring it to Life Now, let’s add some dimension! Unwrap the paper and bring the strips alternately to the center. Seal your masterpiece in place with the double-sided tape. You can use glue if you prefer – that’s up to you. It’s starting to look like a tree already!

Step 3: Standing Tall Our tree needs support to stand tall. Cut a strip of cardboard and attach it to the back of your tree. This will act as the spine, keeping everything upright and merry.

Step 4: Don’t Forget the Trunk What’s a tree without its trunk? Cut a rectangle from the brown paper and attach it to the bottom of the tree. This completes the classic tree look.

Step 5: Time to Decorate! The most fun part – decorating! Use the pom pom balls to add a splash of color to your tree. Place them however you’d like – randomly or in a pattern.
