My First Impression of Country Inns and Suites

Wow. That about sums it up. :) We had a pretty good drive to upstate New York this afternoon/evening. The 5.5 hour drive took us just under 7 hours, as we: stopped briefly 3 times for stretches/bathroom/food… got caught in a MEGA thunderstorm on the interstate… and ran into several sections of slooooooow one lane driving with road construction.

During one of our stops, I returned to the car to find this:

and this

Apparently Biker Bob thought it would be funny to throw some french fries at these:

Lily Bean thought it was pretty funny too. :)

We finally rolled into our Country Inns and Suites just before 8 PM. It totally figures, not 5 minutes before we pulled in, Lily Bean dropped like a fly.

Check in was a breeze! I felt so welcomed from the minute I arrived. Not only was the desk clerk SO friendly and helpful, but I couldn’t miss the smell of FRESHLY BAKED cookies wafting around the room! Just the pick-me-up for the weary travelers! As I checked in I learned a little more about my Country Inns and Suites… Flat panel tvs and dvd players in every room.. complimentary dvds you can borrow at the front desk… free wifi (I’m on it right now- SUPER FAST upload speeds!)… free hot breakfast each morning… pool.. these are just things that I noticed within about 4 minutes of getting my room key! :) And yes, of course, Biker Bob grabbed a few cookies!

Walking into our room, I felt like nothing less than completely pampered. Check out these digs!

(ROOM #1!)

(ROOM #2!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

We found these goodies in our room and with our room key… some snack bags… a free app at a local restaurant.. and 1/2 off apps at TGI Friday’s!

Lily Bean woke up and had a great time exploring.. especially that tub!

Well, Lily Bean and Biker Bob are both snoring away… I think it’s time I did the same. Tomorrow will be a fun day of exploring- I can’t wait!

Oh, and one more thing… Despite my attempts to be “Super Packer” I am, afterall, only human, and forgot Lily Bean’s favorite bedtime book, Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown. Thanks to the speedy internet here, I was able to find this FANTASTIC animated version of the book- narrated by Susan Sarandon. Lily was THRILLED!!! (And I have to admit, Biker Bob and myself enjoyed it as well.) :) (If you’re a subscriber and can’t see the embedded video below, hop over to our site to watch!)
