Snack boards have been around since the dawn of social gatherings (well, close anyway) but they are experiencing a huge resurgence in popularity these days. You can make a charcuterie-style snack board for just about any occasion and to make any theme! Follow the simple directions below to create your own movie night snack board.
Sweet and Salty Movie Night Charcuterie Board
MOVIE NIGHT! We love a good old fashioned night filled with our favorite movies, cozy blankets, and OF COURSE, yummy snacks. You will see some movie theater candy favorites on this snack board. Gather your fave movie night snacks and popcorn! With popcorn at the center of attention, the rest of the board is made up of popular movie theater candy offerings.
Did you know that movie theaters used to prohibit food? (Now the two things go hand-in-hand!)
You can customize your board however you’d like, but feel free to use ours as a starting point! This board is sure to be a favorite at your next family movie night or movie gathering with friends!
Picking the Right Board
You can use any kind of serving board or large platter for this movie night snack board. Wooden boards, a large baking sheet and other serving platters are great options.

Movie Night Snack Board Ingredients
Round up the following movie night snacks to make a movie dessert board just like ours:
- M&M’s chocolate candies
- Goldfish baked cheddar crackers
- Honey roasted nuts mix
- Honey sesame sticks
- Sno-Caps candy
- Dots candy
- Twizzlers candy
- Assorted chocolate candy (snickers, twix, milky way, etc…)
- Chocolate covered pretzels
- Popcorn (Bagged or Microwave popcorn)
How to Build a Dessert Board
1. Start with the small, loose ingredients. For example the M&Ms and Sno-Caps candies. Place these loose items in small bowls. The bowls work great on snack boards. They are easy to move around and you can change up the look of the board by using bowls of varying sizes and colors.
2. Fill in the spaces around the bowls with your assorted chocolate candy, and then finish with the chocolate pretzels, and popcorn. Try to vary the colors equally around the board.
Snack boards remind me of an art form! There is truly no one right way to assemble them and ultimately you can arrange the contents however they look best to you.
Have fun with it!
