XTool provided us with a sample machine to try out in exchange for creating craft content. All opinions and project ideas are our own.
St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, and we whipped up the cutest little good luck charms using the XTool M1 Ultra 4-in-1 craft machine. These mini wooden four-leaf clovers are simple to make, sturdy enough to hand out as gifts, and perfect for spreading a little extra luck to students, kids, friends, or anyone who could use a lucky boost.

Using the laser setting on the XTool M1 Ultra, we cut out these tiny one-inch wooden shamrocks and added a pop of festive green with an oil-based paint marker. The result is an adorable pocket-sized good luck charm that is sure to bring a smile to anyone who receives one.
Let’s get crafting!
Supplies You’ll Need
- XTool M1 Ultra 4-in-1 Craft Machine
- 1/8-inch Basswood (or any laser-friendly wood)
- Green Oil-Based Sharpie Paint Marker
- Four-Leaf Clover SVG or Design File (I made mine in Canva and then imported it into the XTool software.)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Your Design
- Open XTool Creative Space (XCS).
- Upload or create a four-leaf clover SVG file (you can find free ones online or design your own).
- Resize the clovers to about one inch in diameter—perfect for a pocket-sized charm.

Step 2: Set Up Your Materials
- Place your 1/8-inch basswood on the XTool M1 Ultra laser bed.
- If needed, secure the wood with masking tape to prevent shifting.

Step 3: Adjust Laser Settings
- Select the laser cutting mode in XTool Creative Space.
- Set the power and speed settings according to your material. For 1/8-inch basswood, try:
- Power: 90-100 percent
- Speed: 10mm/s
- Passes: 1
Tip: Always do a small test cut first to make sure your settings are going to get the job done.
Step 4: Cut Your Clovers
- Start the laser cutting process and watch the magic happen. (I’m obsessed with watching the XTool cut!!)
- Once finished, carefully remove the wooden clovers from the laser bed.
- Wipe off any dust from the laser.

Step 5: Add a Pop of Color
- Using a green oil-based Sharpie paint marker, color both sides of each clover.
- Let them dry completely before handling.

Optional: Add a little sparkle with gold paint or glitter glue for extra St. Patrick’s Day charm.

This easy DIY wooden clover craft is a fun and festive way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, and the XTool M1 Ultra made it effortless. The precision of the laser cutter gave us perfectly shaped four-leaf clovers, and the paint marker added a bright, cheerful green hue.
