Our Hockey Evolution
Over the years I have used various sports and activities that my kids have been involved with to inspire my printable creations. This one is no exception! From about the age of 2, Landon has wanted to play ice hockey. In fact, he was pretty annoyed with us when he was 3 and 4 years old as we made him taking ice skating lessons before he moved on to hockey.
Finally when he turned 5, the day came for his first pair of hockey skates and a hockey stick! He had the time of his life participating in the Flyers Learn to Play Rookie Program and then last year moved up to play on an in-house league for our local rink. I was so excited to become a hockey mom!
This year he is not only enjoying another season of in-house play but he added a light travel team as well. I have to admit: I just LOVE watching him play and grow as an athlete. The progress of going from a non-skater to a kid who is actually rocking the ice is an impressive sight to behold! His passion for ice hockey, even at his young age, is contagious!
Coach Appreciation
Every season he has at least 2 coaches per team. These coaches are, for the most part, volunteers. (Actually many of them are team parents!) We have somehow lucked out each season and every coach that Landon has been assigned has been an incredible source of encouragement with a focus on fun while skill building.
Just like an amazing school teacher, a great hockey coach is worth his or her weight in gold!

Hockey Puck Appreciation Gift
We knew that this year we were going to round up some Pure Hockey gift cards for coach Christmas gifts. (Probably the easiest gift for any hockey fan!) So we were looking for a fun way to “dress” them up for gifting. We ended up grabbing a bucket of hockey pucks and placing each gift card on a puck!
I taped the gift card to the top of the puck. Then I used twine and tied it around the two items, securing them even more.
For the final touch, I tied a gift tag onto the twine. (Get the tags below!)
