Homemade Lemon Garlic Salad Dressing (Whole 30, Keto)
Just 5 ingredients are all you need to whip up this tasty Homemade Lemon Garlic Salad Dressing. All ingredients are Whole 30 and Keto diet approved.
The other day we were playing around with various ingredients as we reunited with clean eating for the new year. I am simply trying to cut as much processed food out of my diet as possible, something that I saw a lot of success with during the majority of last year. Bob has various food sensitivities that we are still trying to get to the bottom of, but he definitely feels better when he cuts gluten and dairy out of his diet. Needless to say, the holidays and all of our December travel really threw us off track. We consumed way too much sugar, processed food, etc.
One of the recipes on my list to try was a cleaner, bare bones homemade salad dressing. I knew that I wanted to make an olive oil based dressing and we had some lemons to use up after our New Year’s Eve party, so this was the result.
We aren’t specifically following Whole 30 or Keto, but this dressing does use approved ingredients for either lifestyle.
This dressing is light and zesty. It has a citrus tone with a garlic “spice.”
Lemon Garlic Salad Dressing Ingredients
8 TBSP Extra Virgin Olive Oil
6 TBSP Lemon Juice (we used fresh squeezed)
1 tsp oregano flakes
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp honey (optional, makes a little sweeter – NOT keto/Whole 30 compliant)
How to Make Lemon Garlic Dressing
You know how much I love a simple recipe, and this is about as simple as it gets. All you have to do to make this dressing is combine the ingredients. Place the lid on your bottle or jar (mason jars work great for salad dressing), give your container a good shake.
That’s it!
This dressing should be refrigerated after you make it, but you can pull it out about half an hour prior to using to allow the oil to acclimate to room temp. You can half the recipe if you only need a small amount of dressing.
This dressing also makes a great marinade for chicken! Make up a batch of dressing and pour it over boneless skinless chicken in a gallon sized freezer bag. Sit in the fridge for a couple of hours and cook as desired. It will give the chicken a great flavor!
