Grab a pack of cinnamon roll dough and make these adorable and EASY Easter Egg Cinnamon Rolls! Such a simple idea for a holiday-themed snack or breakfast.
The other day I was straightening up our pantry (which has the bad habit of looking like a hurricane debris field). I have a huge bucket filled with my various bottles and containers of sprinkles. As my eye caught the container of Easter themed sprinkles, this idea took shape. We had a tube of cinnamon roll dough in the fridge and I kept picturing egg-shaped rolls, decorated in Easter sprinkles.
The end result was super cute and required MINIMAL effort. Extremely minimal.
We used Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls (the Cinnabon variety) and this container comes with frosting to top your fresh-baked rolls with. The only other ingredient you need to make this sweet seasonal treat – Easter/Spring colored sprinkles.
How to make Easter Egg Cinnamon Rolls
Grab a baking dish and grease it with some non-stick cooking spray. Preheat your oven using the directions on the cinnamon roll container.
Unravel each dough roll and re-roll it into a more skinny, oval egg shape.
Place the dough in your baking dish. We found that the rolls that were nestled next to each other (sides touching) were the ones that came out the most “egg shaped.” Bake the dough per the instructions that came with the dough. (Ours baked for approximately 25 minutes.)
Remove the baked rolls from the oven and place the dish on a heat-safe surface or trivet. We like to frost these cinnamon rolls immediately after they come out of the oven. This melts the icing into the rolls – yum!
Frost the rolls and then top with the festive sprinkles you chose. They look adorable!
These cute treats would brighten up any holiday breakfast table! Both of our junior taste testers gave these rolls two thumbs up. With prep time at about 5 minutes or less, you can’t go wrong!
