Patriotic Rice Centerpiece

It’s reveal time!

Yesterday I showed you how to dye rice.

Today I am showing you what I did with that rice!

I took the red and blue rice and layered it with non-dyed white rice in a glass jar lantern.  (Bought several on clearance last year at the Pottery Barn Outlet!)  I stuck a tea light candle in the top layer of rice so that it sits flush with the rice.  You could use a battery operated tea light if you prefer.

These centerpieces look bright and cheery during the day, then take on a flickering loveliness as the sun goes down!
