Whether you need a nice gift that won’t break the bank, or you’d just like to treat yourself to a little spa-at-home action, homemade sugar scrub is the perfect solution. The neat thing about this recipe is how versatile it is. You can change the scent simply by using a different essential oil.
Here’s what you need to make lemon sugar scrub:
- 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 3-4 drops lemon essential oil
- half pint mason jar with lid
To make:
- Combine ingredients in a bowl.
- Stir.
- Pour into mason jar and make sure the lid is tight.
No really, that’s it!
To use scrub: Stir mixture. Scoop out some scrub and rub lightly onto hands or body (avoid face). Rinse/pat dry.
When gifting this scrub, I like to attach a wooden spoon or thick craft stick for the recipient to use for stirring and scooping. At home I just use my fingers to scoop it out!
This scrub will keep at room temperature for about a year.
