How to Make a MagicBand Child-Sized
Post is now updated with the latest style MagicBands! Process is still the same!
One of the things that I was looking forward to as our last Disney trip approached was the chance to try out Disney’s brand new MagicBands. Since we were staying at a WDW resort, I was able to log into my account a couple of months before our trip and order our bands. When you order them online you can actually choose from several colors – one for each person on your reservation. They arrive a few weeks before your trip (as opposed to receiving the standard gray-colored bands if you wait until check-in).
It was so exciting when they arrived!
We packed this box with care into our luggage and it made the long car ride to Florida safe and sound. These bands serve multiple purposes during your WDW vacation. At this time you can only get a MagicBand if you are staying on a Disney property.
These bands are your room keys, your park tickets, they can make secure purchases at gift shops and collect the pictures on your PhotoPass. Pretty cool. You can “dress up” your MagicBands with Magic Bandits (think Crocs Jibbitz but for MagicBands) and there are various covers for the bands that can help prevent them from falling off.
We found our bands to fit securely and didn’t have an issue with them coming off unless we pulled them off. However, one piece of handy info that we completely missed in our MagicBand box was the BACKSIDE of the slip of paper… that illustrated how to adjust a MagicBand for a small child to get a more snug fit.
So just in case you miss that piece of paper like we did, look how simple it is! Take your adult-sized MagicBand and simply pop the colored section out of the black outline. Voila – kid-sized band!
NEW MAGICBANDS work the same way!!
