Disney Magic Cruise Ship NYC Bermuda Inaugural Sailing Time Lapse Video

We were on the Disney Magic on its inaugural sailing to Bermuda. Our Disney Cruise sailed out of New York City (Manhattan Cruise Terminal) on October 4, 2018 and completed a 5 night sailing that included 2 days docked at the Royal Dockyard in Bermuda. We had a great trip and excellent weather once we left the NYC area. At the last minute, we tossed our GoPro into our bag and thought maybe we would try to mount it somewhere on our balcony for some time lapse footage throughout our voyage.

We ended up mounting the waterproof case on our railing and caught some neat footage of NYC, Bermuda and the open seas. We shot this footage from Deck 6 (cabin 6564).

The video was shot in time lapse mode at 10 second intervals. One giant limitation we had was the battery life of our GoPro (or lack thereof). We didn’t have a way to keep the camera plugged into a power source, so we were limited to recording just three hours of footage before having to bring the camera back inside to recharge. We are just starting out with time lapse, so this is most definitely amateur quality, but it was still fun to record and see what we ended up capturing!
