Told ya we were going to do another trip to CVS this week! With so many great deals, it was hard to resist. Biker Bob was kind enough to do this trip on his way home from work. In case you missed it, you can see our first trip this week here.
Here is the CVS coupon policy. I suggest printing this policy and taking it to the store with you!
:: What’s the point of this? Each week we head to CVS to spend as LITTLE money out of pocket as possible- while generating as many ECBs that we can! Read my CVS 101 post to learn all about CVS and Extra Care Bucks.
Entering the store this week we had:
$10.89 ECBs
We bought:
Total before discounts:
4 Maalox – 1 was $6.29, 3 were $6.99 (Get $10 ECBs WYB $20 – limit 1)
1 Dove Chocolate bar @ $.89 (Get $.89 ECBs WYB 1 – limit 1 *We already grabbed the ECB for this one during our first trip this week!)
1 Reese’s Minis @ $1.59 (Get $1.59 ECBs WYB 1 – limit 1)
2 cans of Bumble Bee (Used for filler items, no ECBs received)
Total: $31.06
We used the following coupons:
(4) $5/1 Maalox coupons (1/9 SmartSource Insert)
(1) $.50/1 Dove Chocolate Bar (from magic coupon machine @ CVS)
$10 ECBs
Total out of pocket: $.56
Total into pocket: $11.59 ECBs
Total ECBs left over from last week: $.89
*******************************************************
As it now stands, here are my savings after 25 weeks of shopping at CVS:
Total value of purchases: $867.42
Total out-of-pocket that I paid: $29.21
Total ECBs generated: $313.70
Total value to out of pocket savings ratio: 97%
Just wondering, if an ad at CVS says that you can get “Y” amount of ECBs, after spending $X, do you have to spend “X” on those particular items only to receive the ECBs, or can you spend “X” on anything in the store?
Yes, $x must be spent on those specific products – and when you go to your CVS, the shelf tag should have the ECB deal noted on it! :)
