SHE’S making her list, and checking it twice!
That SHE is ME and that LIST is so that I can attempt to keep all of our holiday travels and merriment straight! Parties, dinners, performances, Christmas tree buying and decorating, craft show shopping… all of these things and more make up our annual 12/1 – 12/31 rush. I can’t get too annoyed though, because many of these occasions are annual traditions that I look forward to each and every year. They mean spending time with great company and enjoying life with our friends and family.
We keep our freezer stocked with slow cooker meals, casseroles and other SUPER easy to prepare dishes, a favorite being Stouffer’s Lasagna with Meat Sauce. I was at Walmart over the weekend and found the Family Size lasagnas on rollback so I picked up a couple. We find that they provide more than enough for the 4 of us to eat for dinner, usually leaving 1-2 lunch-sized portions for leftovers.
Last night Bob was stuck at the office a little later than usual and of course I am in the middle of my month-long-deal-posting-bonanza so I needed all of the computer time I could get. Dinner had to be filling and yummy but basically cook itself. I turned to a Stouffer’s Lasagna with Meat Sauce for the main course.
My go-to sides were steamed veggies and one of my family’s FAVORITES – homemade Cheesy Garlic Bread. Here’s how easy this bread is to make:
You will need:
- Rolls (cut in half) or a French Baguette (cut into slices)
- Garlic Powder
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
How to make:
- Preheat oven to 375 F
- Take rolls and slice them in half lengthwise. Toast on bagel mode (if you have one) in the toaster and place rolls cut-side-up on a baking tray.
- Put 2-3 thin butter pats on each roll. Sprinkle with garlic powder and finally, top with Mozzarella cheese.
- Place tray in oven.
- Bake for 5-10 minutes, until the roll’s edges are browned and the cheese has melted.
Pair this Cheesy Garlic Bread with that Stouffer’s Lasagna with Meat Sauce and you have a hearty meal with minimal effort. The crowd goes wild!
