There are few things more important than the car seats that we choose for our children. Car accidents are events that we hope never to experience- but should we have that misfortune, having a superior car seat (and having it properly installed!) are crucial.
Did you know that a toddler riding in a minivan actually survived a head-on collision with a train thanks to a properly installed Britax Marathon car seat? Unbelievable.
The brand new Britax Marathon CS car seat is truly the next generation of safety seats for children. As soon as I pulled it out of the box, I could tell that it was a sturdy, quality seat.
Here are some of my favorite features:
- The Click & Safe feature provides a solution to the leading misuse of child safety seats — dangerously loose harness straps — by giving an audible affirmation when the harness straps are within the proper range of snugness.
- The Marathon CS is a tangle-free, five-point harness seat, and accommodates children rear-facing from five to 35 pounds and forward-facing children from at least one-year-old and 20 pounds up to 65 pounds
- The seat also features Britax’s revolutionary side impact protection which uses deep side walls with energy-absorbing foam, to shield from vehicle intrusion, contain the head and body, and distribute crash forces in side impact collisions.
- The Marathon CS also includes the Britax Versa-Tether® to manage energy and reduce the forward movement of the child in a crash both for rear- and forward-facing installations, rear- and forward-facing recline for child positioning and comfort, and premium push-button lower LATCH connectors for a quick, reliable installation.
I am in disbelief that Lily Bean is already in a “big girl” car seat! She was SO excited when she saw us putting it in… and she couldn’t stop smiling when she realized that she now gets to face forward in the car! I feel a huge sense of safety knowing that she is riding around in such a well-made, top of the line seat.
The Britax Marathon CS is now available in stores and retails for $250-$299.
