Best Spots to take Pictures in Disney World
When you head to Disney, there are likely to be many things on your mind! Did you pick up those last minute dollar store items? Did you stop your mail delivery? Did you ship snacks to your Disney Resort? Did you pay the pet sitter? Did you look into purchasing Disney’s Memory Maker? Did you check the weather forecast for Disney and make any necessary adjustments to your packing? Did you print your airplane boarding passes (or fill up with gas tank if you’re driving to Disney)?
Before long, your much-anticipated vacation countdown hits zero and it’s time to drop your bags in your room and get to the Parks! One thing that we always (ALWAYS) have on us at ALL times during Disney trips is a camera. It could be the DSLR, or it might just be our phone – but we never (ever) leave our hotel without bringing some sort of camera to capture those Disney Memories.
With the help of a couple friends (thanks, Heather and Sarah!), us moms have put together a list of our very favorite spots in Disney to snap some memorable pictures of our families. Check out the bottom of this post for a printable list of these locations to take with you on your trip.
Here are some of the best spots to take pictures in Disney World!
View of Cinderella’s Castle by Crystal Palace Restaurant (Magic Kingdom)
Main Street USA with Castle in Background (Magic Kingdom)
Front of Castle (Magic Kingdom)
Tip: Try to get to the park at rope drop when crowds are typically lighter. This is the best time of day to try to snap a pic of your fam in front of the castle with minimal crowds in the shot.
Along Exterior Wall of Casey’s Corner Restaurant (Magic Kingdom)
Tip: Not only does the brick and painted wood exterior make a great background for pictures, the kids can focus on the CASTLE in front of them. I snapped this pic of a then-4-year-old Lily as she watched a castle show while Bob rounded up some lunch! To this day, it remains one of my all-time favorite pictures of her.
Holding the Iconic Bundle of Balloons on Main Street (Magic Kingdom)
Tip: Ask the balloon handler if your kiddo can pose with the balloons! If they aren’t super busy, chances are good that they’ll say yes. They hold onto the end of the balloons while letting your kid pose with the bunch.
Here’s what that scene really looked like!
Tangled Tower and Lanterns (Between Haunted Mansion and It’s a Small World in Magic Kingdom)
A must for any Tangled fan! (Tip: charge your devices from the cleverly placed charging stations in this area. You just need your charging cord and device – the electricity is free.)
Haunted Mansion (Magic Kingdom)
There are many great picture spots in the queue line for this ride! Another fun spot is right in front of the mansion with the horseless carriage.
Tree of Life (Animal Kingdom)
River with Expedition Everest in Background (Animal Kingdom)
Parades!
World Showcase Lake (Epcot)
Spirit of Aloha Meal (Polynesian Resort)
Tip: If you book the Spirit of Aloha dinner at the Polynesian, don’t miss out on a family pic wearing your leis!
Sunset Over Seven Seas Lagoon (from Bay Lake Tower)
If you want to catch an absolutely STUNNING sunset over Seven Seas Lagoon, head to Bay Lake Tower and take the elevator to one of the upper floors. I snapped this picture right off the elevator on the top floor. If the elevator won’t let you up because you are not a guest at BLT, go to the Contemporary and head to the outdoor walkway that connects the Contemporary to BLT. Snap a pic from the walkway.
Muppets Fountain (Hollywood Studios)
