Best SHOT at a Merry Christmas – Fun Alcohol Gift Idea

Just because you want to give a small gift to friends or co-workers doesn’t mean it can’t be creative and awesome looking! Check out our spin on a fun way to “wrap up” these spirited presents.

Shot Glass Christmas Gift

Believe it or not, this post was first inspired by Bob about 10 years ago. Christmas was approaching and he was trying to decide what to give his then-boss. His boss was about 10 years younger than Bob and when we tried to think of what kind of gift he might like, the only thing we knew for certain was that he loved to hit the bar with friends on the weekend. So? Alcohol it was! Bob bought a whole bunch of mini liquor bottles (like the kind you’d find on an airplane) and assembled some fun gifts using the bottles with pint glasses.

Fast forward.

Bob is two years into a new job and found himself looking for a Christmas gift idea for his fellow office mates for small Christmas gifts. Last year he handed out lottery tickets.  This year we saw these mini cups at the dollar store and had the idea for this different spin on the small liquor bottle gifts.

It’s a PDF file containing 3 pages of tags.  You can print the page of your choice (or all three).  I included a page of red tags, green tags and black tags to give you some variety.

I printed our tags on white cardstock. Then I used a single hole punch to put a hole in the top of each tag.

How to Assemble

This is one gift idea that goes together in no time at all.  Simply roll up a piece of tape and stick it to the bottom of each bottle.  You might need to make it a little thicker than the usual tape roll to ensure that it comes in contact with the bottom of the cup.

Taped Alcohol Bottle

Plant each bottle straight down into a plastic cup.  Aren’t these cups the cutest?

Mini Solo Cup Shot Glass

Use a piece of twine or ribbon to tie a tag around the neck of each bottle.  Don’t forget to sign your name on the back of the tag before you affix it to a bottle!

I just love the finished gift!  These are very easy to assemble and really have a fun look. Cheers!

    • Great question! I suppose it depends on where you live. Here in PA, we have to go to the Wine and Spirits state stores to get the hard liquor. Some grocery stores here now sell wine and beer.
