Belle Cupcakes Final

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast movie will always hold such a special place in my heart.

When I was a kid, the original animated version of Beauty and the Beast was one of my absolute favorites. It was probably also the first movie soundtrack that I memorized from start to finish. I remember singing song after song from morning until night.

So it’s no surprise that when Lily was about 2 years old and Disney finally re-released the movie out of its illusive vault, I ran right out and bought it. Lily was enamored by the movie from the very first time she saw it. You would never know it from this picture, but she was SO excited to meet Belle at our very first character meal in Disney World. She became overwhelmed and nervous to pose with Belle but afterwards it’s all she would talk about.

Just a few years later, after another Disney trip or two, she was a total pro. Posing with Disney princesses was one of her very favorite things to do and she still had a soft spot for Belle.

Roses

  • Take a piece of red fondant and knead it until it is easy to work with.
  • Add a small amount of fondant to the rose mold. Be sure to press down on the fondant to fill all the crevices in the rose mold. Once you have done that, bend the mold to release the rose and set aside.

  • Bend the mold gently to release the rose and set aside.

Frosting and Decoration

  • In order to get the frosting to be a bright yellow like Belle’s dress, you will need to add 2-3 drops of Wilton Lemon Yellow icing color to the vanilla frosting.  If it is not bright enough, add more one drop at a time. You don’t want to add too much at a time or you will end up with frosting that is too dark.
  • Once you have achieved the color you like, add the 1M tip to the decorating bag and fill with the bright yellow frosting.
