Conversation Heart Tic Tac Toe

My kids LOVE any kind of craft or activity that involves playing with their food.  Activities that involve food instantly climb to the top of their most favorite pastimes. I have to admit, I totally share their train of thought! A few years ago we made M&M Tic Tac Toe boards for Easter and they were a huge hit. We had them set out on the kids’ table to give them something fun to do while we put the finishing touches on dinner.

So here I am today with the Valentine’s Day version of that game. You can use any candy you’d like for this game, as long as it comes in at least two different colors (or shapes).  Just like traditional Tic Tac Toe, each person ideally has their own color/shape and the goal is to get three of your pieces in a row.

How to Play

You can set these “game boards” up for the kids or you can let them draw their own icing grids onto the crackers.

Take each graham cracker square and use the icing to draw a Tic Tac Toe grid on top of the cracker.

Icing on Crackers

After you have iced the crackers, it’s time to play the game!  Have each kid choose 4 pieces of candy that are the same color and/or shape. They play against each other to see who can get three of their candy pieces in a row first.

This game would be perfect for classroom parties, church events, or even winter birthday parties! It’s an entertaining game for preschool ages and up.
