Many moons ago, before we had kids, Bob and I both worked full time outside of the house. There were no toys to pick up, leftover snacks to discover and throw away, and the laundry was easily a tiny fraction of what it is now. The house was much easier to keep up with (to put it lightly). We could spend a few minutes running the vacuum and wiping down the bathrooms and be good to go for another week or two.
Almost 15 years later, things have changed. Multiply two kids by a billion toys by no less than 8 snacks and 3 meals every single day. Add a dog and two cats to the mix. Now consider the fact that I have worked from home for the last 9 years, meaning myself and at least one kid are almost always in the house. Not only do I have less time to clean the house than I did before kids, but the never-ending mess in this place is constant! Do you have a room in your house that is an absolute MUST-clean if you are having company over? I do. It’s the bathroom, specifically the downstairs bathroom.
Before we have guests over to the house, the downstairs bathroom is the ONE room that is always a priority to clean, no matter how short I am on time. Ironically, the bathroom is the room that tends to see the most mess and upheaval around here.
As Lily reached age five and Landon was born a couple weeks after that, I figured that the bathroom would get easier to clean the older the kids got. I WAS WRONG. I was so very wrong. In fact, it turns out that having kids in diapers kept most of the mess OUT of my bathroom and in the diaper pail.
Potty training was a bathroom nightmare! The near misses, the toilet paper everywhere. And now that both kids are potty trained, the mess in the bathroom continues. The kids and yes, even the husband, wreck havoc on my poor bathroom on a daily basis.
Try as I might to keep up with the mess, I need help. On a recent trip to Walmart, I restocked my two secret weapons that keep my bathroom “company ready” with minimal effort. Scrubbing Bubbles® Bubbly Bleach Gel Toilet Bowl Cleaner is a new product that combines the power of bleach and the cleaning action of foaming bubbles into one product. I like how the extended reach neck gets to hidden grime under the rim! I also like how this toilet bowl cleaner bleaches and brightens the toilet bowl while lifting away the dirt and grime. The active foam cleans and refreshes.
That cleaner is great to use on cleaning day, but there’s another product you’ll want to grab. We have seen great results with the Scrubbing Bubbles® Fresh Gel Toilet Cleaning Stamps! The stamps are applied one at a time (each one lasts for up to 12 days) to your toilet bowl using the included dispenser. The stamp sits out of view just under the toilet bowl rim and provides continuous cleaning and fragrance each time the toilet is flushed! (The stamp slowly dissolves with each flush.) These toilet cleaning stamps are an easy way to prevent the build-up of limescale and toilet rings.
Do yourself a huge favor and pick up Scrubbing Bubbles® Bubbly Bleach Gel Toilet Bowl Cleaner and Scrubbing Bubbles® Fresh Gel Toilet Cleaning Stamps on your next trip to Walmart. If your kids are anything like mine, your bathroom messes aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. BUT you will be a big step ahead of the game with Scrubbing Bubbles® brand products!
