Naughty and Nice List Free Printable
Because well? Sometimes a visual behavior system is just what the kids need to be reminded that acting like sugared up tornadoes will not get them in Santa’s good graces. The weeks that lead up to Christmas are hard. If your holiday season is anything like ours, you’re constantly on-the-go. There are parties and shows and shopping trips and all sorts of other events to try to squeeze into about 3 or 4 December weekends.
I channeled my inner teacher for this free printable. I used to use a very similar chart in my classroom (though I refrained from using the nice/naughty terminology and just used a regular old traffic light pattern). The kids could see with a quick glance at the chart how they were doing at any given moment. It’s amazing how, for many kids, just seeing their name creep towards the red is enough to redirect their behavior.
So every year our elf named Oboe does a halfway decent job acting as a spy-of-sorts for the big guy at the North Pole. Usually just having him hanging around our house helps to keep the kid behavior semi-decent. But then there are those days… days when I just need a little something extra up my sleeve. LOL
That’s where this super handy (and did I mention FREE?) chart comes in. All you need to make this behavior chart come to life is a clothespin for each kid, a sharpie marker, some festive tape if you feel like it, and of course, the Naughty and Nice List Free Printable.
I used holiday themed tape to cover one side of each clothespin. (Totally not necessary but looks super cute!) I wrote each kid’s name on the end of a clothespin with a Sharpie marker.
That’s it! You’re ready to set up your chart somewhere (put it where it’s very easy for the kids to see).
I start each day on “Nice” and adjust up or down as needed.
