You might be able to imagine the excitement that comes along with taking 2 car-crazy kids with their car-crazy dad to the 2017 Philadelphia Auto Show. We received media passes to attend this year’s show and decided to take the kids for a day of car fun. The Auto Show opened to the public over the weekend and will be in town at the Pennsylvania Convention Center through 2/5/17. We hopped on the train and spent a day checking out the ’17 Auto Show’s offerings. The neat thing about the Philly Auto Show is that there is a great mix of older cars, newer cars, unique cars, exotic cars and even this year, famous cars from various movies.
The Philadelphia Auto Show is a great experience for any car enthusiast, but also for the average consumer who wants to check out any number of makes and models in one place before making a purchase. Years ago when we were in the market for a new car, we enjoyed being able to sit in various models from Kia to Ford to Nissan and everything else in between.
One area that we all thought was pretty cool was the Jeep display. On one side the younger kids could take a free spin in a Jeep Power Wheels. Right next to that spot was a simulated off-road course offering a free ride to anyone 44″ or taller. Bob was the only one from our fam that gave that one a try. Make sure you watch the video below to see him go around the course. I filmed him from the outside and he filmed the ride from the front passenger seat!
We loved the area with famous cars from various movies. Of course Bob’s favorite was from his most beloved movie of all time, Back to the Future (Delorean) while I got a huge kick out of seeing the flying car from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Ford Anglia). We also saw the Batmobile, the Jeep Wrangler Sahara from Jurassic Park, Ecto 1 from the most recent Ghostbusters .
The Philadelphia Auto Show is extremely family friendly and runs through the end of this week (final day is 2/5/17). Definitely consider taking the family to the PA convention center for a day or evening of all things cars! You can purchase your tickets online or at the show.
