You might be aware that February is Heart Health Month. But did you know that there are certain types of produce that specifically help to promote heart health? It’s true! Take a look at this great infographic from BJ’s Wholesale Club. There are so many tasty choices when it comes to heart healthy produce.
We took a spin around our local BJ’s last week and stocked up on some of our heart healthy produce favorites. Topping our list were apples, organic strawberries and organic raspberries. Truthfully, we could enjoy any one of these on their own, no recipe involved. Each are delicious all by themselves.
One delicious treat that we never get tired of in this house? SMOOTHIES!
We drink smoothies a lot. It’s fun to play around with the different ingredients, though fruit (berries in particular) almost always end up being key players!
Here is a great (easy!) smoothie recipe you can try. It even uses TWO of the featured heart healthy produce choices on that infographic above.
