10 Patriotic Preschool Crafts for the 4th of July

4th of july crafts for preschoolers title

Would someone please tell me where June went?  I swear just yesterday we were at the Memorial Day parade, yet here we are, it’s July.

Each year, Lily’s excitement for the 4th of July (and all things red, white and blue, for that matter) seems to grow to a fever pitch as the holiday gets closer.  She’s all about the crafts, the picnics, the parade and the fireworks!  This year I have been pinning a TON of 4th of July crafts and recipes.  I always make sure to look for a bunch of preschooler-friendly crafts because she can’t seem to get enough of them.

Here are the 4th of July-inspired toddler crafts that made my top 10 list!

    1.  Pipe cleaners, paint and glitter all come together to make some super fun fireworks painting on Nurse Mommy Superwoman.

    2.  These patriotic windsock crafts from A Little Pinch of Perfect are so cute I can hardly stand it!  I would love to have the kids make these and then would hang them up around the house.

    3. I’m a sucker for anything with the kids’ hand prints or footprints on them.  I would love to make these patriotic hand prints on canvas and use them as home decor.  See how to make them on B-Inspired Mama.

    4.  Lily would be all over this patriotic jar craft from Fantastic Fun and Learning.  She would have a blast and I love the fine motor skill practice that she’d get!

    5.  Mama’s Little Muse has a great ice painting craft.  This looks perfect for an outdoor summertime activity.

    6.  Combine tissue paper art with a patriotic flair in this flag craft from Lil’ Luna.  Check out her blog for directions AND a free flag printable to use as your template.

    7.  What did I tell you?  I’m a sucker for prints!  Here’s an adorable idea for making footprint flags from Crafty Morning.

    8.  These 4th of July watercolor flags from Make and Takes are pretty and full of color.  I would slap some of those coffee filter flags on my kitchen windows for a handmade suncatcher look!

    9.  When I was a kid, my sister and I would make red, white and blue paper chains every single year for the 4th of July.  We used construction paper and always had a blast hanging them all over the house.  Love the Day has a free paper chain printable template that you can use to make these gorgeous flag chains.

    10.  And last but not least, I am absolutely in LOVE with these 4th of July parade ribbon wands from eighteen25!  I can just imagine Lily waving these in the air during the parade.  Kids will need a little more help with this craft than the others in my round up, but it’s still a pretty simple craft (and did I mention HOW CUTE?!).
