Brown Sugar and Honey Slow Cooker Ham

Slow Cooker Spiral Ham Dinner

You already know by now that I have a pretty serious relationship with my Crockpot. I tend to use my Crockpot to make slow cooker meals 3 or 4 nights a week. I love how much time it saves me and how, just by combining a few ingredients, we end up with a delicious, flavorful meal. I tend to host many holiday dinners for my family, and usually at least twice a year make a ham as one of the main courses. So imagine how happy I was last year to discover how simple it is to slow cook a HAM and how succulent the end result is!

For this recipe, you can use a spiral-sliced or non-spiral sliced ham, your choice. Also remember – typical hams are pre-cooked. Your task is basically just to heat it up. Read the label on your ham to ensure that it is pre-cooked – that’s the kind that we use.

You will need:

  • 1 pre-cooked ham
  • non-stick cooking spray
  • 2 Cups brown sugar
  • honey
  • 1/2 Cup water

Peeps Cupcakes (5 Second Dessert Hack)

Peeps Cupcakes Tower

The second I saw these adorable Peeps cupcakes at a birthday party last weekend, I knew I had to share them with you.  Fortunately, my best friend (and the party host) knows me all-too-well and when I yelled, “CAN I BLOG THESE?!” across the party at her, she just smiled and nodded.

So for your Easter celebrations this year, check out this easy but oh-so-CUTE dessert idea.

Grab or make cupcakes and frost them however you desire.

Stick a toothpick in the bottom of each Peep (she used bunny Peeps) and stand the Peep on the cupcake.  Garnish with a couple of Cadbury Mini Eggs.

Done!

Old Navy Clearance Finds from $.47 + DIY Peeps Shirts

Peeps Shirts

If you haven’t cruised the clearance racks at Old Navy lately, you might want to. We stopped at Old Navy last weekend and found a TON of kids’ clothing from just $.47 each. Now, since I am always whipping up shirts for the kids with my Silhouette, I was on the hunt for BLANK shirts. I hit the jackpot with blanks and grabbed about 7 or 8 shirts ranging in price from $.97 – $1.99 each. Those prices are lower than I can get t-shirts from at the craft store with a coupon!

Old Navy Clearance Shirts

For the Peeps shirts, I used two shirts from Old Navy – Lily’s was $.97 and Landon’s was $1.99.

I traced the Peeps image (found online) and used Siser Easy Weed Vinyl from Pro World Inc.  I cut the vinyl using my Silhouette Cameo.

The kids love their new shirts!  I love the shirts AND the price tag!

We went to a birthday party yesterday and the theme was Easter.  The Peeps theme was alive and well!!

50 Non-Candy Easter Basket Filler Ideas

We received samples of some of the products in this post. No compensation was received. All opinions are 100% our own.

Non Candy Easter Basket Fillers

I don’t know about you, but when I think of my childhood Easters, I think of one thing and one thing alone: CANDY.  Lots of candy.  An all-out candy-buffet hand delivered by the bunny himself.  My brother, sister and I would spend Easter day eating, eating, eating candy.  Peanut butter cups, little chocolate eggs, caramels, the list goes on and on.

And don’t get me wrong – I’m not going to tell you not to give your kids a single bite of candy in those baskets.  No way.  Nothing wrong with some candy.  But I am always looking for candy alternatives to put in my kids’ baskets.  It’s easier to keep the candy-binging at bay when it’s not there in the first place.  My kids are just as happy (perhaps even more so) with little toys like bubbles and chalk than they are with candy.

So as another Easter draws closer, check out this list with some non-candy Easter basket ideas!
