CVS Trip this Week: $14.78 OOP for $82 in Product

CVS Trip

cvs trip 1-21-15

I would have thought that after all of his cheap razors, Bob would be done with CVS for the week.  Then yesterday when he got home, it was a sea of coupon clipping and trip planning as he was chattering excitedly about cheap deodorant.  LOL!  He ended up getting some great stuff – and did so after 5 separate transactions, rolling ECBs from one transaction to the next.

Be sure to check out the CVS Christmas clearance post that I put up last week. That trip includes the 90% off items. Last week we shopped 75% off CVS Christmas clearance.

If you’re new to CVS shopping, make sure you check out our CVS for beginners post to learn the ropes! You might also want to review the CVS coupon policy and consider carrying a printed copy with you.

He started with $0 ECBs!

Here’s what he got:

(4) Speed Stick Gear Deodorant (on sale $4/each, regular price $5.49/each)
* Spend $12 on Speed Stick, Get $6 ECBs

Use (2) B1G1 Speed Stock Coupons from 1/18 SmartSource
Pay $8.  Get back $6 ECBs.

Transaction #2
(2) Colgate Mouthwash (on sale $5.99/each, regular price $7.29/each)
* Get $3 ECBs for each one you buy, limit 2

Pay $.36.  Get back $4 ECBs.

Transaction $4
(2) Vaseline Spray lotions (on sale $4.15/each, regular price $8.29)

Use (1) B1G1 Vaseline coupon from 1/4 Red Plum
Use $4 ECBs from previous transaction

Transaction #5
(4) Softsoap Bodywash (on sale $3/each, regular price $4.49)
* Spend $12, get $6 ECBs

Use (4) $.75/1 Softsoap coupons from 1/18 SmartSource

I told ya!  He was on fire last night!

Final breakdown –

Paid $14.78 out of pocket for $81.83 (retail) in product.  Walked away with $6 ECBs to spend next time.  That’s like paying $8.78 for more than $80 in product after you figure in the ECBs on that last transaction.  AND IT’S ALL STUFF WE’LL USE!

CVS Trip this Week: $9 OOP for $59 in RAZORS

CVS Trip

cvs razor deal

Another week, here’s another CVS shopping trip! Disclaimer – we made an oopsie on this week’s trip – we should have bought all BIC razors to take advantage of the B1G1 50% off deal PLUS coupons we had. There was a Schick pack of razors hidden behind the Bics that was grabbed it by mistake. So our deal came out a little higher out of pocket, you can do better than we did.

Without further delay, here’s what Bob picked up last night.

He started with $5 ECBs from last week, $5.06 we had on a CVS gift card and a $5/$15 CVS coupon.

He bought (again, I’m pretending he didn’t buy the Schick razors so you can follow it!):

(8) Bic Razor packs ranging in price from $5.29 – $8.29 (on sale B1G1 half off)
Price before coupons and sale: $59.22
Price after B1G1 1/2 off sale: $44.77

He used the following coupons:
(4) B1G1 Bic coupons from 1/4 SmartSource Insert (saved $31.06)
$5/$15 CVS coupon
$5 ECBs
$3.71 on Gift Card

Final cost: $0

(Our mistake cost us $9 because the missing 8th Bic razor resulted in a missed B1G1 50% off deal!)

CVS Christmas Clearance Deal: 24 Big M&Ms Bags for 32 CENTS

CVS Christmas Clearance

m&ms

No doubt, this deal is probably the very best candy score we have ever found.  Right now CVS stores have Christmas merch on clearance for 90% off regular price.

It’s important to note – this deal is a YMMV deal (your mileage may vary, your experience may vary by store).  Some stores are excluding CANDY and other food items in the 90% off discount and still have those products at 75% off.  You will need to take the candy at your store to the coupon scanner to price check before purchasing.

What made this deal even sweeter, there was a $1/2 M&M candy coupon that came out in the 1/11/15 Red Plum insert.

We found the 12.6 oz bags of Christmas color M&Ms ringing up for $.43 (90% off).  We had (10) of the $1/2 coupons.  The coupons were giving us $.07 overage on every bag, so we threw 4 additional bags into the pile to eat up the overage.

We bought:

(24) bags of M&Ms at $.43 each

We used (10) $1/2 coupons from the 1/11 RP

We paid a grand total of $.32 for ALL 24 BAGS.  That’s less than 2 cents per bag!

cvs m&ms receipt

And if you’re reading this and thinking, “Why in the WORLD would you buy all of those M&Ms in the first place?” save yourself the effort in typing a comment.

Because what you should really be asking is, “Why in the world WOULDN’T I let CVS practically GIVE me all of those M&Ms?!”

Rest assured, I will not be consuming 24 bags of M&Ms.

Things I will be doing with them: freezing some for desserts later in the year, separating many of the bags by color and making everything from Valentine’s gifts (with the red) to St. Patrick’s Day and Earth Day treats (with the green).  I will be giving some to friends and family, I love to share the freebie love.  These candies don’t expire until 9/2015 so I have 9 whole months of M&M’ing fun coming my way.  :D  I’m off to go start searching for projects on Pinterest…
