ALDI Haul Today: What I Paid for Meat, Dairy, Produce

Did you catch my Facebook post this morning?  I was cruising the quiet aisles of ALDI while both kids were at school and honestly, it was pure bliss.  As I walked along, I loaded the cart with all sorts of great stuff at bargain prices.  Trips like today’s typically last us for 3-4 weeks before we go shopping again.  Not pictured are a whole bunch of other grocery staples like pasta, bread, bagels, etc.

When I got home I grouped the meat, dairy and produce and figured I would put together a ALDI haul post since I have not written one in a few months! Read more..

What’s in MY ALDI Shopping Bag + $25 ALDI Gift Card Giveaway

This post is sponsored by ALDI. All opinions are 100% our own.

It’s officially official: the holiday season is HERE! Christmas preparations are in full swing at our house and things show no sign of slowing down until January. We have parties, dinners, school performances and all sorts of other fun social gatherings on the calendar this month. I LOVE the month of December for so many reasons – but mostly because we get so much time to spend together as a family. One thing that I don’t look forward to this time of year is the financial strain it can put on our budget. That’s why I have a bunch of money-saving tricks up my sleeve to make sure we can still pay the mortgage when January rolls around! Of course, one of the best ways that we save a TON of money is by shopping at ALDI.

I love shopping at ALDI year round, but some of their holiday offerings ALWAYS find their way into my cart. I would love to show you some of my seasonal must-buys!

Every year I pick up at least 1 Benton’s Kids Gingerbread House Kit at ALDI.  I usually also grab a container of Baker’s Corner white frosting because it’s so soft and easy to spread.  The kids absolutely LOVE decorating their houses and it actually keeps them occupied for a nice chunk of time!

Sprinkles!  OH HOW I LOVE festive sprinkles!!!  ALDI has the best (I think) variety of fun seasonal sprinkles at an affordable price.  I always make sure to pick up the latest season’s container as soon as I see them go on the shelves.  The Cake Mate Christmas Mix variety is PERFECT for cookies!!

I couldn’t resist showing you the back – look at the adorable trees and snowflakes!!

While I am picking up sprinkles, I always toss a box (or three) of Millville Crispy Rice Cereal into my cart, along with Baker’s Corner Marshmallows (mini and regular sized), as well as some Countryside Creamery Sweet Cream Butter.  These ingredients are essential for our “world” famous Weaver Dream Bars!

Check out the finished result after adding those holiday sprinkles!

While I’m buying ALLTHESPRINKLES, I also pick up a container of these Baker’s Corner Rainbow sprinkles as well.  They make the perfect decoration around the rim of glass milk bottles.  We use them for party cups for kids during our New Year’s Eve party!

Sometimes I like to add a taste of summer to my holiday menu.  On Christmas Eve we always host a big family dinner and Savoritz Rosemary & Olive Oil Crackers pair PERFECTLY with tomatoes, fresh basil and fresh mozzarella cheese.  OMG! Delicious Caprese Cracker Stackers!!

My last highlight for you when it comes to ALDI holiday faves is all about the CHEESE!!  Last year Bob and I actually did something for dinner that I have a good feeling will become a tradition.  We fed the kids their dinner and put them to bed.  After they were sound asleep, we lit a fire in the woodstove and watched a movie while the Christmas lights twinkled on the tree.  We ate a scrumptious dinner of cheese, meats, crackers, fruit and WINE.  Absolutely delectable, thanks in large part to the always-stunning selection of cheeses at ALDI!

Checking Out ALDI Little Journey Line + $50 Gift Certificate Giveaway

This post is sponsored by ALDI. ALDI is responsible for providing the prize to the giveaway winner. All opinions are 100% our own.

Lily at ALDI

We are so excited about the ALDI Little Journey line of baby and toddler products.  Think beyond diapers and wipes (though yes, they’ve got them!) because this new line of products includes toddler snacks, infant formula, baby wash and more.  My only complaint?  That my kids are just about too old to use the products!

We have been using the Little Journey Baby Wash for Landon’s baths with great results.

You already know how much I love ALDI – their quality and pricing is simply tough to beat in my book.  We shop at ALDI every 1-2 weeks for the bulk of our groceries and every time we shop we tend to notice new products on the shelves.  ALDI continues to innovate and come out with new products and new varieties of the old products that we know and love.  Many times these new products have a way of ending up in our cart because we just have to try them.

Parents with little ones, this post is for you.  We all know that raising kids isn’t cheap – from the diapering to the feeding and everything in between.  Potty training is cheer-worthy for MANY reasons, not the least of which is all of that money you’ll save on diapers!  If saving money WITHOUT compromising quality sounds fantastic to you, you’ll be thrilled to learn about the brand new Little Journey line of products from ALDI.  The Little Journey line features close to 50 high-quality affordably-priced feeding and changing essentials from diapers and training pants to formula and baby wash.

You know Landon.  My almost-3 (WHAT?) almost-in-preschool (WHAT?) curly haired  truck-loving boy who just happens to be right smack in the middle of potty training.

Devon and Landon

We took a trip to ALDI to see what goodies I could find for my best boy.  I noticed an entire lineup of feeding items – from Little Journey infant formula to Little Journey toddler snacks (finger foods AND pouches).

They had diapers in a variety of sizes and quantities.  We zeroed in on those Little Jouney training pants!

We threw a big pack of Little Journey Baby Wipes in the cart since one can never seem to have enough.  I also picked up a Little Journey Baby Wash because, well, dirt happens.

Yup, happy boy.  The prices and quality we have found with the ALDI Little Journey line make this mom happy too!

Caprese Cracker Stackers with Rosemary and Olive Oil Crackers

This post is sponsored by ALDI.  We received a gift certificate to purchase the ingredients necessary for this post.  No compensation was received.  All opinions are 100% our own.

Caprese Cracker Stackers

Summer around here is not just about the warm weather and lazy afternoons floating in the pool.  While those things are essential elements to our summertime fun, we also look forward to the different tastes (many from our garden) of summer.  Every year we not only plant a variety of veggies like zucchini and tomatoes, we also plant an herb garden.  We use the herbs in all sorts of recipes, from salads to grilled entrees.  By far and away, my two favorite herbs that we grow are basil and rosemary.

Since we have a steady supply of tomatoes and basil, we usually keep a ball of mozzarella cheese in the fridge.  Put them all together, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with ground pepper and you have caprese salad – which to me, literally tastes like summer.

We recently had the chance to try out Savoritz Rosemary & Olive Oil Woven Wheats Baked Crackers from ALDI.  These crackers are PACKED with flavor on their own and would be an incredible addition to any meat and cheese platter.

We took things a step further while camping last weekend.  We brought a box of these crackers and picked a bunch of basil leaves from our garden.  Our tomatoes aren’t ready for picking yet so we stopped at ALDI and grabbed several organic tomatoes and fresh mozzarella.

We whipped up this succulent looking platter and had ourselves a savory afternoon snack as we watched the kids play around the campsite.

Want to try another variation? These crackers are also available in Cracked Black Pepper & Olive Oil.
