Christmas Toy Challenge from Your Elf + FREE Printable Poem

A Christmas Toy Challenge

Every year as the holidays roll around, I am always looking for teachable moments to share the importance of helping others and paying it forward to my kids. I love the Christmas Toy Challenge because it produces two outcomes: it teaches kids to think about others and also gets rid of a little bit of the clutter in the playroom before Santa arrives with a fresh haul.

Our Elf on the Shelf arrives every year on December 1st, though you certainly do not have to participate in the Elf tradition to take part in the Christmas Toy Challenge.

The concept is super simple: challenge your kids to fill up a box of toys that they are interested in donating. Not only are they learning to pay it forward, this is also a wonderful introduction to the world of recycling and upcycling.  Most toys can be donated to local thrift stores, daycares, etc.
