For years now I have been touting the benefits of a Disney Chase Visa Card to anyone who would listen. Keep in mind, it’s not that I advocate credit card use in general – charging cards to their limits just to buy “stuff.” Quite the contrary. We use our Disney Chase card as if it’s our debit card. We charge almost everything in our day-to-day living but we save every receipt, deduct every receipt from our bank account ledger and when the statement arrives every month, the bill is paid off in full. In other words, we only charge what we have the cash to pay for – but the perk (and a huge perk at that) is earning Disney Rewards in the process.

The more you charge, the more you earn. The rewards can then be redeemed for a big ‘ol Disney gift card. We have gone to the Disney Parks with hundreds and hundreds of dollars to spend thanks to credit card rewards. These reward cards can also be spent at your local Disney Store and online at DisneyStore.com.
The Disney Chase card gets you discounts too. Save 10% on Disney Store purchases and on select purchases and at select restaurants IN Disney!
But enough about the monetary rewards. I want to tell you about the coolest (we think) Disney perk that comes along with this credit card. As a Disney Visa cardholder, you are entitled to a FREE character meet and greet once a day. Now I don’t know the specifics at Disneyland, but at Disney World, you can enjoy this free experience once a day. We have done this twice now and absolutely LOVE it.
Every day from 1 pm to 7 pm you can head to Innovations West in Epcot Center (the building with the fire truck inside). Look for a sign along the building wall that denotes this meet and greet. An attendant stands at the front of the line and you will need to present him/her with your Disney Visa card. The attendant will give you a voucher that you can redeem at any photo location for a free 5×7 print.
This character meet and greet is held in a private room and it’s literally just you, the characters and the photographers. While Disney states that the characters can vary, we have twice met Minnie, Mickey and Pluto. We have never felt rushed, never felt like we had to race through the greeting. We have always had time for Lily to fawn all over Minnie’s bow and do a silly dance with Pluto. This year we had Landon with us for the first time and he was gushed over by Minnie and Mickey and extremely amused by Pluto’s nose.
This freebie is something that we look forward to every time we visit Disney! And not only do you get to pick your favorite picture for the free 5×7 print, ALL of the pictures taken during your meet and greet appear in your Photo Pass account. So if you choose to purchase Memory Maker, you will actually end up with all of them to reproduce as you desire.
