Today was a complete and utter blast. I shopped until my legs were about to give out from under me. I shopped until my bags were so full, I couldn’t even remember half of what I had in them. It was an all-out, deal-snagging, bargain-hunting, money-saving jamboree. Yes, I am talking about the Just Between Friends consignment sale in Oaks, PA which opens its doors to the public TOMORROW, 4/24/14. (Today was a pre-sale event where volunteers and bloggers such as Yours Truly got the chance to be some of the first to shop. Let me emphasize – there is so much merchandise to be had at this sale, the pre-sale didn’t even put a DENT in it!)
Taking place at the Greater Philly Expo Center in Oaks, PA through 4/26, the JBF Western Mainline sale is one that I enjoy shopping at, though I usually end up there during the public sale or the last day of the sale (aka half off day). This was the first time I shopped their pre-sale so it was the first time that I truly had the chance to just stand back and take it all in. These sales are utterly gasp-worthy. You have to push past the overwhelming factor and dive right in to the bargains.
Check out some of my pictures that I snapped as I walked around:
Prince ERIC, anyone?
Lots of books!
Let’s take a look at everything that I somehow managed to load into my car and haul home, shall we? I am guessing that I easily saved more than 75% off the retail price for the majority of the items that I bought… which ROCKS!
The one and only item that I shelled out more than I normally would was for this Hartstrings rain jacket. I have been on the search for a new one for Lily, and of course she wants a pony one. I am pretty much obsessed with the Hartstrings brand and I couldn’t resist this like-new one that I bought for $15.
I found a big ticket item for each kid. For Lily, $10 got me a Schwinn bike. She is quickly outgrowing her current bike and this one will be perfect for her to grow into. For Landon, I snatched up this Little Tikes firetruck for $20. That’s a big discount off the retail price ($75)! I know that it won’t be long until he’s zooming around in this truck.

I thought that $13 for all three of these American Girl Craft Kits was a fantastic deal!
My final purchase was a total crap shoot – and I think I ended up making out in the end. I found three different bags of clothing for $18 total that were simply labeled “Clothing for American Girl Dolls.” The bags were sealed and there was no way to tell what brand they were. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the one outfit (red leather jumper) IS an older AG outfit. All of these clothes, one set AG, for $18. Nice!
I consigned the Old Navy flip-flops, glad they are going to a good home! :-)
LOL! No way! They are adorable – they will have a great new home. :)
whew. . . i’m tired just reading this. Sounds like a great bargin trip.
