When you join Nielsen Homescan, you get to scan your weekly grocery and other store purchases with a nifty scanner they send. You then upload the data via USB cable once a week and earned points for each week that you upload your information.

Points can be redeemed for prizes in their catalog- tons to choose from.

You will find out at the end of the application whether or not you have been accepted. If you are accepted, you will most likely be placed on a waiting list for a few weeks to a few months until a scanner is available for you. I have recently heard from several readers who signed up during the last round of applications- they were on the waiting list and have been notified that their scanners are on the way!

p.s. If you are accepted and decide you no longer want to participate, you may may stop at ANY time! They even send you a postage paid mailer to send your scanner back if you make that decision- nothing to lose!
