Happy Happy Birthday to you! I am so sorry you have to share it with such a crappy day.
My pastor mentioned while preaching this morning that he met a little boy on Sept 11 2002 who told him it was his birthday and when the pastor wished him a happy birthday the little boy burst into tears bc it would never again be HIS special day. I had never even thought of it like that. I too cried.
I think those born on this day should *also* celebrate their half birthday!
You deserve a day of bliss… a day that everyone around wants to remember and celebrate only YOU!

Awww – thank you so much, Heather!! Yeah, there’s no way around it – the whole thing really sucks. I do have moments now and then when I angrily turn off the tv wishing that the tributes, memorials and 9/11 recaps could fall on any other day of the year. But, it is what it is. The actual day, 9/11/01, was my 21st bday of all years. AND my dad was at work that day in Manhattan. It was terrifying on all accounts. There’s one good thing about having this day for a birthday – people almost always remember it.
And I have the most amazing family and friends who truly go out of their way to make it special every year and smother me with lots of love.

I was told by a friend that the Vera Bradley outlet (there’s one in Limerick, PA) gives $20 off your purchase during the month of your birthday. I tried it in July on my actual birthday and they gave it to me with no problem. I got an awesome purse for $3.18!
