  1. I’ve used this in the past but this year there are NO theaters ANYWHERE near me! I’m really going to miss this… :(

  2. Call your local theater. Mine is not listed, because it’s not offering 1 dollar movies- here they’re free! Call and ask the manager.

  3. If you live in the San Antonio and Austin area, Santikos and Alamo Drafthouse offer free movies. The only difference being, the selection is smaller.

  4. We’ve done these in the past but they were FREE. Near us the Regal has $1 movies, there is a Great Escape theater with free movies Mon-Fri, and a Goodrich theater that is also doing $1 movies for the summer. Check out all the cinemas around you and I’m sure you’ll find a good deal.

    • Looks like the charge is new this year – though some are still offering them for free. Best bet is to call your local theatre and see how they are handling the promotion.

  5. They always were free in the past. I wonder if the charge could be due to a lot of summer camps taking advantage of it and leaving few seats left for families. This happened a lot in my area.
