I have never EVER been inside of a Salvation Army Store… until yesterday!
A new store opened near us recently. Every single time (and I mean EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.) that we have driven past this new store, the parking lot has been FULL. We took advantage of the low holiday crowds yesterday and stopped in for a look. It turns out that there were some great deals to be had- especially on clothes. Gently worn clothes in all sizes and colors were displayed in long, never-ending rows.
There was also a special Memorial Day sale- spend $25, get $5 off your order.
Here’s what we found:

- Little Tikes Car (Lily Bean nearly passed out with excitement… imagine the CAR from her beloved CAR CART in her very own backyard! Coincidentally, we have searched consignment sales and shops for these cars- only to lose them to other people or find them in really crappy condition. This one is in GREAT shape!) $12.99
- Phillies shirt for ME $2.99
- Pair of jeans for ME $2.50
- Swim Trunks for Biker Bob $4.99
- Toy Story Woody Disney Store Beanie (New with tags. Yes, we have a VERY BIG Toy Story fan in the fam. In fact, we’re thinking that Toy Story 3 might just be her first movie in the theater!) $1.99
Our total: $25.53
AFTER Memorial Day Sale discount
We paid: $20.53
WOOT!
How about you? Do you like shopping at Salvation Army? What do you like to buy there?

I like that on Friday and Saturdays if you get 5 for $5 on the clothing that has the same color tag that is on sale that week. I get a ton of name brand button down shirts for my husband and lots of clothes for my 3 year old very cheap doing that.
I was really impressed with the clothing- both quality and selection. We will definitely be going back- what a great way to stock up for less!
Where might this new store be?
On 309 in Montgomeryville, PA (Lansdale?)… about a mile past 5 points intersection heading North on Rt 309.
I bought summer maternity clothes there. I figured, why spend a ton of money on clothes I’ll only be wearing for one or two months. It was great. I think I bought three shirts, a pair of pants and a pair of shorts for $13! I probably resisted shopping in a Salvy for a while, but then thought…I donate my old clothes there all the time, so if I do, then other people with my taste in clothes probably do as well!
Cheaps! Not that you need another project, but have you seen how people pimp out cozy coupes? It’s insane. Think purple. Think rhinestoned rims. Think vanity plates. I will hook you up with pictures if you want- Lily could be rockin’ the most fly set of wheels on the block.
LOOOOL! Oh man that made me laugh!! Yeah- definitely send me the pics- I’ve got to see this!

Thanks for letting us know. I find that these stores can be hit or miss, glad to know you found a good one and since I live there I think I will be checking that one out.
I know where that store is and I need to go!
Our local Goodwill Store is fab, too! I snatched up a great Little Tikes bookcase toy box for my grandson for only $5! And I love to find great buys on clothes for both him and me there!
We have one of those too- I need to check it out!
The salv army in Quakertown usually has good stuff too! You might also like 2nd avenue in lansdale but they don’t separate by size which is annoying!
I thought I remembered you saying you had shopped there! I went to 2nd Ave before (is that the one by redner’s?) and I actually hated it- it just seemed.. well.. dismal. LOL That was years ago though.
