I can honestly say, that even before Lily Bean sprouted her very first tooth, I was already thinking about how important it would be to promote good oral hygiene with her. I am lucky that she actually really enjoys having her teeth brushed. I’m not sure if it’s the sweet taste of the children’s toothpaste or if it’s just a silly thing to do, but she cracks up everytime we brush! It can be hard to know which toothbrushes and toothpastes to choose- there are so many out there!
I was so happy to get the chance to try out the new Stages line from Oral-B. Each stage offers an age appropriate toothbrush that is designed with child development in mind. The Stage 1 toothbrush that we received is recommended for ages 4-24 months. It has SUPER soft bristles that are perfect for Lily’s sensitive gums, but strong enough to clean her (4) little teeth. I also like the non-slip grip on the handle- that’s a big help while I wrestle with a wriggly little girl!
These are the different Stages that Oral-B offers:
Stage 1: 4-24 Months
Stage 2: 2-4 Years
Stage 3: 5-7 Years
Stage 4: 8+ Years
I also think it’s worth mentioning that Oral-B Stages has recently partnered with Scrapblog to educate parents about children’s oral health.
Together they provide parents a unique and easy way to document key ‘Smile-Stages’ in their children’s oral health development. Smile-Stages are important milestones in children’s oral health development, such as their first smile or the loss of their first tooth. A Smile-Stage is also a specific time of year when children’s oral health is especially important, like the holidays when kids are eating lots of sugary treats. Parents can capture their children’s best Smile-Stages moments by visiting www.oralb.com/smilestages and creating personalized multimedia scrapbooks that can be viewed and shared online.
