My Country Inns and Suites NYC Getaway!

I’m home from my girlfriends retreat in NYC! It was another whirlwind trip to the Big Apple and, while tiring, I had to much fun!
My stay in New York was at a brand new Country Inns & Suiteswhich I jumped at the chance to stay at, after our amazing vacation in their hotels over the summer! This location is in Queens, literally right outside of downtown Manhattan, Times Square, Broadway, etc.
One side of the hotel even offers a beautiful view of NYC itself. I heard that it’s especially beautiful at night.
Now that I have stayed at several Country Inns and Suites, I know that there are several great things I can always look forward to, no matter what city I am in…
In room: I love the beds. LOL That sounds silly, but I really do. Not too soft, not too hard, just right. I always get such a great night’s sleep!
I love having a refrigerator and microwave in the room! It helps me save money if I bring dinner or lunch back to the hotel- I can put it right in the fridge and enjoy it at a later time.
The suites at these hotels really make traveling with friends and family super easy. Everyone has plenty of space to stretch out, and you don’t feel like you’re constantly tripping over someone or something.
Hotel:What other hotels offer FREE hot breakfast each and every morning? Eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast, pastries, coffee, juice, you name it- they had it. This is another huge money saver when traveling- cutting out an entire meal purchase each day is fantastic.
Free wireless internet- so far all (3) of the Country Inns and Suites that I have stayed at offered this amenity- fabulous! Makes it easy to keep up with my email and website while on the road.
Free cookies in the lobby 24/7- YUM!
All in all, I really enjoyed my stay, and I want to thank Country Inns and Suites for providing me with a free room to check out their new Queens, NY location! The hotel was clean, fresh, and well maintained. The neighborhood seemed safe and was a quick walk to the train and subway- making a trip into downtown extremely quick and easy.
The parking situation at this hotel does leave a bit to be desired. There are about six TINY spaces in front of the hotel and pretty limited street parking. There is a parking garage around the corner where you can park for $15 a day. That’s a reasonable price for NYC, but free parking is always better. :) I arrived at the hotel after dark, it was a neighborhood I didn’t know, so I didn’t want to stray too far down the side streets. I parked what I thought was a reasonable distance from the fire hydrant, on the street in front of the hotel. Yeah, definitely woke up to a $115 parking ticket. OUCH!
The staff seemed friendly, but didn’t go out of their way to show over-the-top customer service. They were quick and efficient, but definitely told me “no” when asking for creamer during breakfast hours for coffee and when I asked for an invoice to make sure I didn’t incur any charges on my credit card. I probably wouldn’t have even noticed if the two Country Inns and Suites I stayed at over the summer hadn’t demonstrated exemplary customer service.

I would definitely recommend this location to others. Whether you are looking to do some shopping, see a show, or simply check out the sites in NYC, this hotel has a great location and very clean accommodations! And if you’re traveling on a budget (who isn’t?!) it’s a total steal- you can stay a within miles of Time Square at a fraction of the price that NY area hotels usually come with.

It is a perfect choice for a family trip, a girlfriend getaway, or even a solo retreat!
