I’ve said it before many times- if you want to get the very most of out your coupons, you need to train yourself out of the wholesale club mentality where bigger is better. When using coupons your best bet is to focus on the smallest sized package available.
Here’s an example. I was at the store on Friday and had a coupon for $.75 off any 2 Uncle Ben’s Rice products. I wanted to buy the white converted rice, so my choices were the large or the small box- and my goal was to spend the least money out of pocket possible.
Large box: $3.49 (So if I bought 2 of these= $6.98… minus $.75 doubled coupon= $5.48 out of pocket.
Small box: $1.89 (Buy 2 of these= $3.78…minus coupon= $2.28 out of pocket)
