I am home after a whirlwind trip (less than 24 hours!) to New York City. I had the honor of attending the 2009 Time to Play Holiday Toy Showcase where the most wanted toys for the 2009 holiday season were revealed during a press conference. I kept joking that I felt like we were going to be visiting the set of the movie Big, and I wasn’t far off the mark. It was toy central, and it was so fun.
I had the opportunity to speak with representatives from the top toy companies, including (but certainly not limited to): Nickelodeon, Hasbro, Mattel, Toys R Us, Animal Planet, Onionhead, LeapFrog, MEGA Toys, Techno Source, Playmobil, and Baby Genius. I got to take a look at some of their latest and greatest toys that have just or will be hitting the shelves very soon.

On a sidenote, I’d like to send a huge thank you and big props to Time to Play (especially Kaylie!). What a well organized, carefully planned, and welcoming event. Everything flowed, everyone was a huge help, and I left with such a good feeling. This was the first year that the showcase was opened to bloggers, and I am so very grateful for the opportunity!
